A senior-led project is not one where seniors appear for the kickoff and then disappear into a status update. It is one where the people making the most important decisions are also the people accountable for the code, the design, and the launch. That level of ownership changes the quality of every tradeoff.
The biggest difference is not speed. It is judgment. Seniors know when to reuse a system, when to simplify the interface, when a release should be smaller, and when a good idea is too expensive for the current phase. Those calls prevent rework long before the project becomes expensive.
